Warm, active colors like these appear to advance surfaces inward, so balance this effect: Incorporate these colors as accents or move your furniture away from the walls (it seems counterintuitive, but trust us). If you decide to deck the walls with these exuberant hues, provide balance with warm wood furnishings, gold touches and crisp white trimmings.

To pack even more punch with this palette, add a dollop of an analogous cool color to these saturated warms. Pantone's "Rum Raisin" or "Daiquiri Green" will do the trick.

Intimidated by orange? Consider using it generously in a liminal space, such as a hallway, for a lively transition. Just make sure you weave it into the color story of nearby rooms with accent pieces or artwork.
